Flip Pal Documentary Video
Our society and Flip-Pal have produced a documentary on the Flip-Pal mobile scanner for genealogy applications. Narrator Walt Grady from the Flip-Pal Team presents several scanning applications while visiting the courthouse and a library in Fort Collins. Walt shows many benefits including the EasyStitch feature of this portable scanner for genealogists and family historians. Program length: 25 minutes
Users will need a Windows xp, Vista, or 7 PC computer with the Windows Media Player to watch this informative video.

Ritchie’s Carwash Rewards Program
Our society is now participating in the Richie’s Express Carwash Rewards Program. We have the PayBack rewards cards available at our meetings. Each time you purchase a “Works” wash at Richie’s, have the attendant swipe the PayBack card and our society will receive $3 in donations. The cards are similar to credit cards with a barcode assigned to Larimer County Genealogical Society. This rewards card is only good on their “Works” wash.
If you purchase a “Works Wash Book” (buy 4 washes, get 1 free), the card will only be swiped at the time the book is purchased and not for using the future wash coupons in the book. This is an ongoing fundraiser for our society with the monies being earmarked for the purchase of genealogy books for both the Loveland and Fort Collins libraries. Take several cards and pass them out to family, friends, neighbors, etc.
The car wash has announced their Double Swipe Days for February which are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, February 14th, 15th and 16th. Each member/supporter who purchases a “Works” wash on these three days earns our organization $6 when they have their Richie’s PayBack Rewards Card swiped by the attendant at the time of purchase.
The “Works” wash includes underbody wash, rust inhibitor, wheel brite and clear coat. Plus, you can use the free vacuums to clean out the inside.

TYT Publishing Affiliate Program
Members and authors Boyd and Gwen Johnson have published a how to resource book on “Write Now! Tell Your Family Story” in 2010. Being former California school educators, they have been teaching classes on writing your family story since 2009 for our society members. They collaborated with many of those members from their previous classes on the content of their informative book.
Their easy to understand book includes many helpful suggestions on writing and publishing a family history report or book with over 140 illustrations. Many detailed examples are given on how to write a family history. The perfect binding edition is in color, whereas the spiral bound edition has black and white illustrations. Otherwise, the content of the two copies are the same.
