Genealogy Road Trip to The Denver Public Library

As every genealogist discovers at some point, travel is sometimes necessary to help with your research.  Join us for a visit to The Denver Public Library for a tour where you will learn how to find your family history within its walls.

The Western History and Genealogy Department in the Denver Public Library is located in Downtown Denver. The tour will be an overview of the Genealogy Department which includes 60,000 books, 75,000 pieces of microform, and hundreds of magazine and newsletter titles, charts, clippings, atlases and manuscripts. This department also has the best Western Americana Collection in the world; a massive Map Collection which includes a large collection of Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps for the Denver and immediate area; a card index for the newspapers of the Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post with an every name index for a 20 year period in the late 1800s/early 1900s.

Ride Sharing: To participate in a Ride Sharing as a driver or as a passenger please email coordinator Debbie Harrison at  [email protected] .  Please be aware that some drivers may wish to stay longer and do research.
