Transcript of the President’s Address
Hello, my name is Bob Larson and I’m the President of the Larimer County Genealogical Society. Welcome to our website. Our society is celebrating 35 years and have many great events planned for 2009. The Board of Directors cordially invite you to attend our many events to help research your ancestors, learn about new genealogy methods, and promote fellowship as part of our society mission statement.
Please take the time to browse through our many different webpages. Inside, you will find important information on our society, such as our Board of directors, committee chairs, our monthly programs and speakers, our many classes and workshops, membership information, and special events such as the Victorian Day in the Park and the new Colorado Family History Expo to be held at the Ranch fairgrounds in June.
Our society offers many classes and workshops every year. Besides the monthly Family Tree Maker software classes, we offer these classes on Introduction to Genealogy, DNA, Preservation and conservation methods, and scrapbooking your genealogy. Please visit our class schedule for more information on our website.
Members and the public can also browse our many features including our ever expanding Larimer County databases, how to genealogy articles, and also download our past newsletters, our Family Tree Maker class handouts, and a host of training and past society highlight videos to further enhance your learning experience. We’re even planning on adding more website features in the near future.
In addition, our society offers several mentor programs, to help our members with specific genealogy or computer related problems. We also offer a genealogy bookshelf program for members to exchange their genealogy books.
Overall, we believe you will enjoy our society, so please bring a relative or friend to our many events and start learning about the nation’s second largest hobby, and of course, your ancestors.
Thank you so much for visiting our website today and we look forward to seeing you at one of our many events!
