Program Information
The topic for the monthly meeting will be “The New Deal Programs of the 1930’s”.

The New Deal Programs of the 1930s – This discussion of President Roosevelt’s programs to restore American prosperity during the Great Depression focuses on the programs’ direct and indirect effect on our ancestors, and where we might find records mentioning their participation.

Speaker Profile

Katherine R. Willson of Dexter, Michigan is an engaging & dynamic genealogy lecturer at local, regional, and national genealogy events. She is a full-time genealogical researcher for private clients and teaches in-person and virtual genealogy classes for all levels. Katherine is the founder and Past President of the Virtual Genealogical Association, the past President of the Michigan Genealogical Council, and a past board or committee member for the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Federation of Genealogical Societies, the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, the Detroit Society of Genealogical Researchers, and the Genealogical Society of Washtenaw County. She is the author of The Genealogist’s Guide to Grand Rapids, Michigan and the creator of the Genealogy on Facebook list, a catalog of almost 17,000 pages and groups on Facebook pertaining to genealogy and history that is now maintained by Cyndi Ingle at CyndisList.com.
