Class: Southern Research with Sara Gredler

Class will be on October 7 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm in the East Meeting Room at the Harmony Library

This class is free, but you must REGISTER below to receive the handout.

Everyone that is interested in genealogy or family history is welcome!

Class Description:
Southern research can be challenging due to lost records, records that were never kept at all, and multiple ethnic groups who lived in widespread areas, often separated more by geography than political boundaries. This class will dive into historic documents including land records, probate records, tax records, and maps, as well as the methodologies for using these records effectively in your research. The class will review methodologies to work around lost records and use the Genealogical Proof Standard to ensure that your research is correct.
