Finding Your Family Roots Resource Fair

You are cordially invited to attend a FREE genealogy fair on March 7 from 10 am to 2 pm at the LDS Church located at 1445 28th Street in Loveland.

Besides several exhibitors from the local Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Larimer County Genealogical Society, there will be several genealogy classes plus a class on how to use the popular FamilySearch databases and family tree creator plus DAR and LCGS databases.

10 am: Opening by LDS Family History Center Director

10:30 am: Genetic Genealogy Beyond the Hype by Glenn York, DNA Instructor
Glenn will give a basic class on DNA and provide info on how DNA can help you find your ancestors, he will cover the types of tests, testing companies, and information about planning your tests. This class will discuss how ethnic estimates and cousin matching can help with your research.

12:30 pm: Beginning Genealogy by Bob Larson, Genealogy Instructor
Bob will provide all the info on primary and secondary genealogy records, where to find them, providing sources for verification, recording your genealogy on FamilySearch, and info on using the local Family History Center or Loveland Library for help and accessing the genealogy databases.

Additional activities include opening a FamilySearch account, using the FamilySearch databases, creating your family tree, using the DAR databases, and Larimer County databases.
