Tip: All genealogists should cite their sources when using these databases, if entering your ancestor information into a family tree, pedigree chart, or genealogy software. The primary sources for these databases are the contributors, not our society.

1885 State Census, Larimer County, Colorado

An index to the Larimer County and what is now Jackson County entries in the 1885 Colorado State Census.

Tip: Go to the index section in the back of this publication database to find a list of names, then select the page for the preferred name.

Larimer County Cemeteries 1860-2005

An index for the different cemeteries in Larimer County by surname, given name, plots, and birth and death dates.

Tip: The intro page for each cemetery provides a map and details of the index. Additionally, there are two other websites on Larimer County cemeteries to visit as listed on the cemeteries webpage.

Divorce Index 1825-1950

An index for the divorce applications filed with the Larimer County District Court by surname, given name and year filed.

Tip: Select the bookmark index in the upper left to find surnames alphabetically.

Grantor/Grantee General Index 1862-1872

Land transfers extracted from the original Larimer County Courthouse indexes 1862-1872. Indexed by Grantor, Grantee and by Date it includes Grantor, Grantee, Nature of Instrument, Time of Reception, Volume and Page are included.

Marriage Index Volume I, 1858-1910

Extracted from the Larimer County, Colorado Marriage Indexes 1858-1910. Indexed by both bride and groom, this index includes marriages for Larimer and what is now Jackson County 1858-1909 and for Larimer County only in 1910. Bride’s Name, Groom’s name, Date Married, Date Filed, Book and Page are included.

Marriage Index Volume II, 1910-1950

Extracted from the Larimer County, Colorado Marriage Indexes 1910-1950. Indexed by groom by surnames in alphabetical order and indexed by brides by page numbers only. Groom’s Name, Bride’s Name, Date Married, Date Filed, Book and Page are included.

Fort Collins Coloradoan, Obituaries 1988-2002

This is the beginning of a project to digitize obituaries published in Larimer County publications. This index links to digital images of obituaries cut from the Fort Collins’ Coloradoan from March 1988 to August of 2002. More images are being uploaded to the web site, as they become available.

The index is by last name followed by first name and date the obituary appeared in the paper. Click on the name to see the image of the obituary.

Please Note: The Coloradoan Newspaper, has online archives from January 16, 2003 to present. Their archives contain other articles in addition to obits that may be useful to researchers. The search is free, but there is a charge to access articles. Their FC Coloradoan website details several methods of accessing the articles, buying individual articles, subscribing, etc. New articles are free for the first seven days. You can access these archives at the Coloradoan website. Enter your keywords in the search box at the top of the page, click on the “More” tab that appears and select “Archives”.

California Obituaries of Former Colorado Residents

Thanks to Eleanor E. Borkenhagen for these obituaries. Eleanor clips obituaries from the Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register. As she clips them, Eleanor sorts them by counties and sends them to the genealogical society that has a connection with the person in the obituaries. The following are obituaries that Eleanor found that relate to Fort Collins and various outlying towns.
