Local Family History Centers

Family History Centers are a wonderful resource for genealogists and family historians. Besides their access to the vast collection of microfilm and microfiche from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, each center has very knowledgeable volunteers, who can help guide visitors in researching their ancestors.

At a Family History Center, visitors can search billions of online records. These centers also offer access to the LDS circulating collection of 2.5 million microfilms from over 100 countries as described below.

Microfilm / Microfiche Information

Each Family History Center (FHC) has multiple microfilm and microfiche scanners/readers to read the different microform formats and print a copy of a particular page of section for your reference library. Even though each FHC has some limited microfilm or microfiche available in their own collection for local county research, visitors will need to order the film or fiche for a period of 30 days viewing. A cost of $7.50 per microfilm roll for 90 days use and $4.75 per microfiche collection regardless of the number of fiche, are kept permanently at the center. All microfilm is ordered online by patrons from their home or anywhere with Internet access using a credit or debit card. For information on ordering the film or fiche, download the instructions below.
